Fourth graders play recorders in music class from the end of October until their March concert. We use recorders, in addition to singing and playing other instruments, to continue to review and learn music concepts.
Much of our fourth grade music time includes playing the soprano recorder. This is a great place to check out for the songs we play in the music room. Extra songs and fingerings can also be found on this page.
Go to the Recorder Information page for more ideas and help with your recorder! Hot Cross Buns is a very well-known song and is on the top line of music. The second line of music is Hot Cross Buns' opposite, Buns Cross Hot. You can play either song by itself, or find a friend to play both at the same time. Although the pitches are sometimes different from your partner, you should be playing the same rhythm as each other.
