Hello! I am so glad you are visiting this webpage and finding out about all our musical adventures at Becker Intermediate!
My name is Holly St. Germain and I have the privilege of making music with many of the students here at the Rock.
I grew up on a farm in Silver Lake and graduated from Glencoe-Silver Lake High School. In high school, I played my French horn in pit band, pep band and concert band. I also competed in cross country and Knowledge Bowl. After high school, I moved to Decorah, Iowa and attended Luther College. Decorah is in a beautiful part of Iowa and I loved the community there. I graduated from Luther in 2004 with a degree in music and a license to teach K-12 instrumental and classroom music.
My first teaching job was at St. Anastasia Catholic School in Hutchinson, teaching music to all of the students from preschool to 6th grade. It was a huge learning experience. After two years there, I got the job here at the Intermediate School, teaching grades 3-5. This is my fourteenth year here. I enjoy seeing all the kids come back in the fall and watching them grow from third to fifth grade.
When I'm not teaching music, I enjoy being with my family, playing handbells, running, baking, Twins games and trips to the Dairy Queen.
